Our Story
Your Hosts
Welcome to Kinnikinnick Guest House.
We are your hosts, Jennifer and Robert and your four legged concierges are Mary Poppins (AKA Poppy) and Angus Argyle McGallagher of Kilgour, however, the gentleman doesn’t stand on formality and answers to Angus.
We are newbies to the region. We came for a vacation in May 2025, and we fell in love with the region, the climate, the culture, and the peace. We admit that we might have been playing with an ulterior motive (and perhaps we had been doing a little real estate research), but we did not expect to fall in love with the area. Fast forward ~ we put an offer in on the house, returned home to Ontario, sold our house, quit our jobs, and uprooted our lives.
We are eager to make your stay enjoyable. Please reach out with any requests you may have, and we will do our best to accommodate you. If you have suggestions on how we could make future visits more comfortable, please let us know. We want this to be a place that you will return to and refer to your friends and family.
When we decided that our new life was going to involve a guest house, we wanted to find a name that reflected the area. Being in the centre of the rainforest, we were drawn to finding a name indicative of the natural surroundings. We researched the indigenous plants and found Kinnikinnick, and it is also a really fun word to say.
